With Michael Kenneth Williams (2009's The Road) slated to be playing the part of Alex Murphy's partner, a role originally played by Nancy Allen in the original RoboCop trilogy. It seems Jos� Padilha's remake, scheduled for a 9th August 2013 release, will feature another gender swapping casting choice, with the announcement that British actress Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Secrets & Lies Oscar nominee) will be joining the cast as Detroit Police Chief Karen Dean. Presumably a role similar to that of Sergeant Warren Reed played by Robert DoQui in the original trilogy.
